Slight Injury Results

In Traffic Crash

Mrs. Daniel Milton Norman of Rockville, Md. and Rock Mills was slightly injured in a traffic crash Sunday evening on Route 622 near Washington, Va. Mrs. Norman was a passenger in a 64 Ford operated by her husband when it was struck by a 67 Ford pickup operated by John Thomas Wharton of Sperryville. According to Trooper W. A. Buntin, the truck struck the Norman vehicle when they met on a curve. Mrs. Norman was taken to Culpeper Memorial Hospital by the Rappahannock Rescue Squad with an injured knee. Damage to the Norman car wa6 estimated at $400 and to the pickup $300. Wharton was charged with reckless driving. Friday morning at 5:45 a.m. a car struck and killed a deer on Route 522 just north of Flint Hill. Shirley Jordan Frye, operating a 63 Mercury owned by Carl Edward Frye, was not injured when she struck the animal. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $300, said investigating officer W. A. Buntin.
