Luray Tower Vespers

Begins on Sunday

The 27th annual season of Sunset Vesper Services on the lawn of the Luray Singing Tower will begin Sunday, July 2. At 7:45 p.m., carilloneur Charles T. Chapman, in a recital of the world's most in-! spirational music, will ring! out the prelude to the services. At 8:15 the vesppr service will begin. The speaker for the first service in 1967 will be the noted missionary, lecturer, physician and former congressman Dr. Walter H. Judd of Minnesota. He has been a medical missionary in South China where he survived bandits and Communists but malaria forced his return to the States. After recovering from malaria, he received a Fellowship in surgery at the Mayo Clinic, and later returned to Asia, this time in the northern part. In 1942 he was elected to the United States Congress from the fifth district of Minnesota and served in this capacity for 20 years. He is now a contributing editor of Readers Digest, provides a brief daily commentary on world events on 900 radio stations, and continues to lecture. The musical setting for the initial vesper service will be presented by the Choir of the New York Avenue Presbyterian Church, Washington, D. C. under the direction of Dr. Stephen H. Prussing. The public is cordially invited to attend.
