Clarence Jenkins Sustains Copperhead Bite

Clarence Jenkins of Sperryville was hospitalized Sunday after he was bitten by a copperhead snake. He was visiting his home place in the mountains near Nethers when the snake struck him. The Rappahannock Rescue Squad took him to Culpeper Memorial Hospital and he was transferred to the University of Virginia in Charlottesville where he was treated with serum. He remained overnight and returned home Monday. He will have to return to the hospital periodically for treatment.

Amissville H.D. Club

Large Quantity Meals was the demonstration given at the Amissville Home Demonstration Club meeting Monday night. Miss Diane Brown, Home Agent was in charge of the program. Business to come before the group was the annual County Achievement Day which will be held this year in November at the Amissville fire hall. Plans will continue on this and further notice posted. Hostesses for the October neeting Monday were Mrs. Mason Hitt and Mrs. F. L. Bowey.
