Leaders wanted
•Wanted*' Responsible' adults who like boys and girls. Job as 4-H Club leader. No salary. Must take pay in smiles and satisfaction of job well done. Apply at Cooperative Extension Office, Washington, Virginia. No experience necessary. We train you on the job. Will you answer the want ad? There are several leaders at work in the county now but many vacancies still exist. There are many boys and girls of club age in the county and towns of Rappahannock who can’t belong to a 4-H Club because there is no adult leader to work with them. Whoever does apply for the job of leader must be willing to give time, energy, and know how. On the job leaders declare the “pay" is high. They say it comes in watching boys and girls grow in knowledge, skill and self confidence. That’s better than money and it’s something money can’t buy. Will you answer this want ad for 4-H leaders? 4-H Club News Washington I The 4-H Club was started up again for the fourth grade on September 21. This is Mary Brooke saying that I hope you will read my story every month. The officers for the girls’ club for this year are: F.ae Rector, President; Patricia Settle, Vice President; Debbie Smoot, Secretary; Mary Brooke Massie, Reporter; Song Leader, Linda Kay Hudson. We will have an officer train ing meeting in October here in Washington. Miss Brown will be teaching the girls snacks and Mr. Pratt will be working with the boys.
