Pedestrian Injured
Sat. in Sperryville
Ashby Cleveland Pullen, 64, of Sperryville sustained injuries when he was struck by an auto on Route 211 a mile west of Sperryville Saturday night. He received a dislocated shoulder and lacerations and abrasions of the head, face and arms. He was taken to Culpeper Memorial Hospital by Rappahannock Rescue Squad, then on to the University of Virginia Hospital in Charlottesville. He returned home Sunday evening. According to Trooper J. B. Willis, Pullen ran across the highway into the path of the auto, a 65 Chevrolet owned and operated by David Byron Casteel of Virginia Beach. No charges were placed against Casteel.
