Traffic Crashes
Two traffic crashes were re ported Friday on Rappahannock highways, one involving a single car and the other with two. Miss Margaret R. Palmer of Washington, Va. escaped injury when she crashed into a fence on Route 522 just south of Flint Hill Friday morning. According to Trooper W. A. Buntin, Miss Palmer lost control of her 65 Triumph convertible as she was traveling toward Front Royalwhenanun* identified vehicle which she was meeting made a left turn in front of her. She applied her brakes and swerved to avoid the car, lost control of her vehicle and crashed into a plank fence. Damage to her vehicle was estimated at $400. At 6 p.m. Friday, two cars met on a hill on Route 628 just north of Washington and collided. Involved were Smith William Timbers, jr. operating a 63 Chevrolet and Edgar Hawkins operating a 60 Chevrolet. Both are of Washington, Va. * When the twc^fcars met, Timbers applied his brakes and skidded into the Hawkins car, said Trooper Buntin. Damage was estimated at $500 to Timbers and $400 to Hawkins and Timbers was charged with reckless driving. Sunday night a hit and run crash occurred near .Ben Venue on Route 211 about 6:50 P.M. Rosemary H. Ingenlathof Newport, N. H. was sideswiped by a light colored vehicle which failed to stop at the scene, according to J. B. Willis, State Police. Damage to the 67 Mustang which she was operating was set at $200.
