The Commission of Game and Inland Fisheries at a meeting held in Richmond, Virginia, on July 25, 1968, adopted the following new regulation pursuant to Sections 29125, 29-126 and 29-127 of the Code of Virginia, to become effective October 1. 1968.
CHAPTER 1. In General R 1-9. Permits for drilling, dredging
and other operations in
Back Bay area.
Drilling, dredging and nny other operation designed to recover or obtain shell, minerals or any other substance shall be unlawful on lands owned by or under the control of the Commonwealth of Virginia under Back Bay, its tributaries and the North Landing River from the North Carolina line to North Landing Bridge unless a permit is first obtained from the Commission. Application for a permit under this regulation shall he made to the Commission in such form and substance as the Commission may require. Under the authority of Code of Virginia 8 62.1-5 the Commission shall grant or refuse such permits as conditions may refIuire in order to prevent practices find operations which would harm the area for fish and wildlife
