John finished college, landed a good job, and got married all in the year of his 23rd birthday. All these momentous events took place in 1963. Tilings were going exceptionally well for John and his family, to which a daughter had been added in 1964. Then, suddenly, in 1965, disaster struck. John was involved in an auto accident, which left him badly crippled. It appeared that it would be a number of years before he would be able to do any kind of work.
