Veterans’ Claims
i The State of Virginia assists veterans, their widows, orphans
juid dependents in obtaining their benefits, rights and privileges through laws enacted for their |benefit by the Federal, State and Local Governments. ] The organization charged with this responsibility is the Division of War Veterans’ Claims under the Attorney General in the [Department of Law. It has [twenty-two field offices located strategically throughout the State in order to provide service to every county in Virginia. The Field Representatives travel on regular pre-announced itineraries to every section of the State where they provide service so no person entitled to benefits may go unassisted.
The Division maintains a staff of Claims Representatives in the Veterans Administration Regional Office, Roanoke, Virginia who' assist in preparation, presentation and prosecution of claims before the Veterans Administration.! Representatives of the Division i also work closely with the Department of Labor, Social Security Administration and other Federal and State Agencies in the fulfillment of their mission.
The service of the Virginia Division of War Veterans’ Claims is furnished without charge to all persons seeking assistance, and
one-third of the number that went after the big birds in the fall. All estimates are subject to a certain amount of expected error.
Present plans call for the survey to be repeated following this hunting season and every 2 or 3 years thereafter.
