ill is is Holy Week and I think it is a time for some soul searching. What do we actually believe? Was Christ’s death actual or symbolic? Did He dwell in a spiritual body after His crucifixion, and (as the Agnostics claimed) leave no footprints in the sand as he walked by the seashore? If so, what happened to His physical body? Have you ever asked yourself these questions? I have and I never received any satisfactory answers.
I advanced this hypothesis to a religious person a few days ago. He implied that the whole Christian concept was based on the resurrection of the Christ, that if it were ever proved that the resurrection was not real, his faith would be shattered. , I love and respect this person land am not going to criticize his
| faith,. I do not mean to imply that my faith is stronger than his, I do affirm that I believe in the Christ, whether His death was real or merely symbolic. The fact that He came to earth and was willing to suffer to prove that He loved me is sufficient reason to merit all my love in return.
