Mrs. Myrtle Smith

Mrs. Myrtle Mae Smith, 74, o! Amissville died September 9 1969 in Culpeper Memorial Hospital. She was the daughter ol the late James Jackson Hackley and Nora Alice Priest Hackley She was the wife of Paul Jackson Smith of Amissville who survives her.

Other survivors include one son, Everett R. Smith and three grandchildren, all of Amissville. Also surviving are five brothers, Johnie and Charlie Hackley of Viewtown, Willie and George Hackley, Amissville and Howard Hackley of Woodstock; two sisters, Mrs. Nannie Weaver of Culpeper and Mrs. Juliette Estes of Castleton.

Mrs. Smith was a member of the Amissville Ladies Auxiliary and a member of the Amissville Baptist Church where a funeral service will be held today (Thursday) at 2 p.m. The Rev. Charles Kindred will officiate and interment will be in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Arley Estes, Nelson Burner, Archie Myers, Russell Hackley, Edward Hackley, Lewis Hackley, Charles Henry Hackley and Jack Smith. Mrs. Ella Deal

Mrs. Ella Lee Deal of Castleton died September 7, 1969 at her residence after a lengthy illness. She was 65, a native of Rappahannock; the daughter of the late Joseph and Bertha Hitt Settle.

Her first husband, Carroll Settle, was killed by the Woodville tornado in 1929. She later married Otha Thomas Deal who died in 1967. Surviving are two sons from her first marriage, Jesse J. Settle of Amissville and Marvin B. Settle of Alexandria; a daughter by her second husband, Mrs. Aloha L. Hitt of Castleton; and 12 grandchildren. Also surviving is a brother, Turner Settle of Viewtown; a sister, Mrs. Robbie Settle of Manassas; and a half-sister, Mrs. Annie Pierce of Alexandria.

A funeral service was held Tuesday at Massanova Penecostal Church of which Mrs. Deal was a member. Interment was in Forest , Grove Baptist Church Cemetery at Viewtown. Pallbearers were Richard Gore, James Bailey, Ray Hitt, Archie Hitt, Raymond Hitt and Ray S$tphin. ■*7> 41 Geest Funeral Parlors were in charge of arrangements.
