Sperryville Comer Store was burglarized early Tuesday morning and more than $4,000 was taken from the safe Besides the contents of the safe the only other articles missing were two hams valued at about $14 each. The store is operated by Randolph Clater of Washington, Va. and Wilson Burke of Sperryville in the Schwartz building.

A pane of glass in a window on the west side of the building was broken to allow entrance to the store. This side of the building is screened from adjoining property by a fence row of small trees which afforded excellent cover for the break-in.
