Over 500 Visit
C&P 'Open House9
Upon completion of C&P’s two-day open house in Sperryville i on October 24 and 25, nearly 600 I guests had visited the center which included tours of a special exhibit trailer, the Sperryville central office, and refreshments.
F. Wayne Dementi, local manager, stated “we were very pleased to have the opportunity of meeting so many of our Sperryville customers.”
Exhibits included an antique telephone display, an electrocardiogram demonstration, aids to the speech and hearing handicapped, and a “How Your Telephone Works’’ demonstration. The central office was also available for tours ,
One of the exhibits which drew special attention was the electrocardiogram demonstration of sending via telephone a patient’s EKG to a distant medical center where it was reproduced, making it possible for a heart specialist to make immediate diagnosis and consult at once with the orginating sender physician. Others commented on the various fields of research shown, much of this not usually publicized, such as study for bending light waves to improve micro-wave transmissions, etc.
