Pursuant to resolution of the Rappahannock Countv School Board and authorized by Judge Eliot Marshall, Judge Designate for the Circuit Court of Rappahannock County, the said School Board will sell to the highest bidder at public auction on

Saturday, November 8th, 1969

Commencing at 10 a.m. (EST)

at the Front door of the Courthouse of Rappahannock Countv, Virginia, in tne Town of Washington, the following described school buildings'and lands:’

WASHINGTON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL All those certain buildings and tracts of land located in the Town of Washington, Hampton Magisterial District, Rappahannock Countv, Virginia, and described as follows: TRACT No. 1: 3 acres with school buildings thereon located on the north side of Mt. Salem Avenue and being the same land acquired by deed and survey to the Rappahannock County School Board from F. Pendleton Carter et ux, dated the 3rd day of August, 1908, as recorded in the Clerk’s Office of the Circuit Court of Rappahannock County, Virginia, in Deed Book Y, page 493, SAVE and EXCEPT, however, 0.09 acre conveyed to the Highway Department as recorded in Deed Book 93, page 702; TRACT No. 2: 2.10 acres without buildings located on the south side of Mt. Salem Avenue and being the same land acquired by deed and survey to the Rappahannock County School Board from C. J. Miller, et ux, dated August 26, 1936, as recorded in said Clerk’s Office in Deed Book 40, page 55; SAVE and EXCEPT, however, 0.02 acre conveyed to the Highway Department, as recorded in Deed Book 93, page 702; Reference is hereby made to said deeds for further particulars and a more accurate description of each of the above-mentioned tracts. The above described tracts will be offered separately and as a whole and then sold to the bidder for the highest purchase money offer.

SPERRYVILLE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL All those certain buildings and tracts of land located in Sperryville, Piedmont Magisterial District, Rappahannock County, Virginia, at the juncton of State Highways No. 211 and 522, and being the same tracts or parcels of land acquired by the Rappahannock County School Board as follows: TRACT No. 1: 2.54 acres acquired by the said School Board from J. Clifford Miller et al, by deed and survey dated March 7, 1916, as recorded in the Clerk’s Office of the Circuit Court of Rappahannock County, Virginia, in Deed Book 30, page 235; TRACT No. 2: 1.395 acres acquired from J. Clifford Miller et al by said School Board by condemnation proceedings recorded in the Clerk’s Office of said County on May 12, 1932, in Deed Book 36, page 564; TRACT No. 3: 0.938 acres acquired from J. Clifford Miller et al by said School Board by deed and survey dated October 19, 1935, and recorded in said Clerk’s , Of lice in Deed Book 39, page 345-6; SAVE and EXCEPT, however, 0.33 acre transferred to the Highway Department by decree of the Circuit Court of Rappahannock County, Virginia, as recorded in Deed Book 36, page 278. Reference is hereby made to each of the above-mentioned deeds and condemnation for further particulars and description of the lands hereinabove-mentioned. TERMS OF SALE: Cash; with 10% on the date of sale and the balance of the

purchase money within 10 days after the date of sale, payable

to the Rappahannock County School Board. Sale of each of the above described tracts of land is subject to approval by the School Board and confirmation by the Circuit Court of Rappahannock County, Virginia.
