Season Coming Up
Trout streams will be closed during either the first or second week of May for restocking by the Commission of Game and Inland Fisheries, reminds Fish Division Chief Jack Hoffman. The streams will re-open to angling on the Saturday following stocking. Streams in counties along the state’s far western border will be closed from May 4 through May 8 and will re-open on May 9 at one hour before sunrise.
Counties which border the Blue Ridge will receive their second allocation of trout during a closed period from May 11 through May 15 and will re-open to angling on May 16. Included in this group are Albemarle, Amherst, Bedford, Carroll, Floyd, Franklin, Frederick. Grayson, Greene, Henry, Madison (except flsh-for-fun), Montgomery, Nelson, Page, Patrick, Pulaski, Rappahannock, Roanoke, Shenandoah and Warren Counties.
