Miss Brenda Dennis became the bride of Charles Henry Hitt on Saturday, April 18, 1970. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John J. Dennis of Castleton, and the bridegroom’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Henry S. Hitt, also of Castleton.
The ceremony was performed at seven o’clock in the evening in the Washington Baptist Church with the Rev. Charles Kindred, pastor of Amissville Baptist Church, officiating. The church was decorated with palms, arrangements of white flowers and lighted candles.
Mrs. Paul Miller of Flint Hill was organist.
The bride was given in marriage by her uncle Nathan Carpenter, Jr. of Madison. Her formal gown of white peau de soie was designed with long sleeves and lace panels in the skirt which ended in a chapel train. Her full length tiered veil was attached to
cluster sprinkled with crystals and seed pearls. She carried a cascade of white and coral roses.
Miss Rose Dennis was maid of honor for her sister. She wore a full-length gown of apricot chiffon and a matching veiled headpiece of flowers. She carried a nosegay of white mums with greenery and a green ribbon.
