favoring year round fishing and those who like the traditional opening day a proposal has been made to have the trout season open on the first Saturday in April at noon as in the past but remain open until February 15. The five day closure in May would remain in effect. The season's and bag limits on small game will remain the same as last year. An October 1 through October 14 squirrel season and then everything coming in on November 15. The Game Commission will meet again in Richmond on April 29 for the purpose of taking final action on the new proposals.
Panthers Lose to Page
RCHS Panthers baseball team was defeated when it met Page County High School on the Page diamond Thursday. This is one win and two losses for the Panthers. Final score was Page 9; Rappahannock 3. Maury Nichols hit a homer for the Panthers, but he was, however, the losing pitcher. Doffelmyer homered for Page. The Panthers had 3 runs, 5 hits and 3 errors; Page had 9 runs, 8 hits and 1 error.

Be Library Speaker
Mark your calendar for Monday, May 3 at 8 p.m. to be at the Rappahannock Library ~ in Washington to hear a speaker, a man who has been where the really 4>ig action is, Lt. Gen. Daniel Noce.
According to the program committee, Gen. Noce’s career shows he has not only been in the big action, but in the center of it. As General Staff, he helped plan the invasion of France; as Staff member, he participated in the operations of the African and Mediterranean Theatres; as Chief of Staff of Army Service Forces and of Civil Affairs, he held key positions in Washington; as Chief of Staff, he organized American Army Forces Activities in Europe, just prior to Nato.
Gen. Noce’s civil experience is equally rare and as essentially a part of the main show. He functioned at the center of three great rescue operations in the first half of the Twentieth Century when the Army loaned him tc Hugh Johnson to assist in creating and implementing the NRA; when he was loaned to Harry Hopkins to get young men to work in the WPA and to get electric power into rural America with the REA. The public is cordially invited to attend and coffee and tea will be served at the Library.
