(a) It shall be unlawful to hunt with a dog or gun or have in possession a strung bow, or a gun which is not unloaded and cased or dismantled, in the national forests and on Commission owned lands and on lands managed by the Commission under cooperative agreement except during the periods when it is lawful to hunt bear, deer, grouse, pheasant, quail, rabbit, raccoon, squirrel, turkey and/or migratory game birds or by permit issued by the Commission.

(b) It shall be lawful to hunt dove on national forest and Commission-owned land west of the Blue Ridge Mountains only when the dove season coincides with the seasons provided for the abovenamed game species. (e) It shall be unlawful to have either a shotgun or a rifle in one’s possession whe accompanied by a dog in the daytime in the fields, forests or waters of the counties of Augusta, Clarke, Frederick, Page, Shenandoah and Warren, and in counties east of the Blue Ridge Mountains, except Patrick, at any time except the periods prescribed by law to hunt game birds and animals.

(d) For the purpose of this regulation the word “possession” shall include having any bow or firearm in one’s car or conveyance. Regulation R2-8.4, relating to hunting in White Oak Mountain Wildlife Management Area, is hereby rescinded.

CHAPTER'8.'Bear Amend Regulation R3-1 to read as follows: Except as provided by local legislation, it shall be lawful to hunt bear from the third Monday in November through January 7, both dates inclusive.

CHAPTER 6. Deer. Amend Regulation R6-5 to read as follows:

The bag limit for deer shall be one a license year, either sex the last day only in the counties of Alleghany, Augusta, Bath, Botetourt, Craig, Frederick, Giles, Highland, Page, Rockbridge. Rockingham, Shenandoah and Warren.

Amend Regulation R6-7.1 to read as follows:

The bag limit for deer shall be one a day and two a license year, one of which may be a doe during the last three hunting days only, in the counties of Amelia, Brunswick Buckingham, Charles City, Chesterfield, Cumberland, Dinwiddie, Fluvanna, Goochland, Hanover, Henrico, James City, Louisa, New Kent, Nottoway, Powhatan, Prince George, Spotsylvania, Stafford (except on the U.S. Marine Corps Base, Quantico) and York (except Camp Peary, Cheatham Annex and Naval Weapons Station), and in the cities of Hampton (except Langley Air Force Base) and Newport News (except Fort Eustis).

Adopt a new regulation to be numbered R6-72 as follows:

The bag limit for deer shal be one a day and two a license year, one of which may be a doe the last hunting day only, in the counties of Albemarle, Culpeper, Fairfax, Fauquier (except on the U.S. Marine Corps Base, Quantico), Greene, Loudoun.
