IT WAS a well balanced effort for Rappahannock. Bobby Smoot had 13 points, Cliff Frye and Harry Jordan had 10 each. Ronnie Myers led the attack as guard and collected nine points hitting long set shots. Lawrence Turner collected four and Bill Kilby three then Steve Leake’s two rounded out the scoring.
The Panthers now have a 3-9 record and were bouncing back from a 69-49 defeat at Luray last Friday night.
Harry Jordan pumped in 20 points against the 1971 state champs. The JV team lost to Luray 29-28 in a single overtime.
As has been mentioned before, basketball is coming back to Rappahannock. It has been quite a while since the Panthers have won a pair. It won’t be as long before the next time.
The Panthers travel to Page County January 28 and play William Monroe February 1.
