Accidents are minor
MINOR DAMAGE resulted in three traffic crashes of insignificant proportions reported this week, and personal injury was avoided in each.
January 21 at 3:20 p.m. on Route 211 two miles west of Washington two vehicles side-swiped on a hillcrest. Involved was a 69 Chevrolet sport coupe operated by Ronald Lee Dodson of Fliijt Hill and a 72 Chevrolet pickup driven by Wayne Edward Cubbage of Stanley. According to Trooper W.A. Buntin the two vehicles met at the crest of a hill and side-swiped.
Damage to the Dodson car was set at $400 and damage to the Cubbage truck was estimated at $§00.
On Route 626 in the Town of Washington Monday afternoon a minor incident occurred when Mary Verner Updike backed into the road from her garage and was struck by Mary Frances Carter.
The Updike 69 Chevrolet sustained $150 in damages while the Carter vehicle, a 64 Plymouth, had $100 in damages. Mrs. Updike was cited for failing to yield the right of way by Trooper R.A. Baines, who investigated. Joseph Bonnette Pullen of Annandale ran off the left of Route 211 just west of Amissville Saturday night in a 72 Ford ending up in a ditch. Damage to the vehicle was set at $100 by Trooper Baines. □
