THE counties of Fauquier, Rappahannock and Orange and the Town of Warrentoh moved Tuesday night to form the Ninth Regional Planning District.
Rejecting the plan were Madison and Culpeper counties and the Town of Culpeper. Officials from each of the areas were present for the meeting in Culpeper.
Madison County took a “wait and see” position. Madison Board Chairman Willie Carpenter said he was there to find out more about the planning district so he could report back to the Board, which is composed of two other members.
