Golden anniversary

MR. AND MRS. CLARENCE DEARING of Washington celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary with a reception held Saturday i> the social hall of the First Baptist Church, Washington, Va. In excess of three hundred friends and relatives were present to offer best wishes.

Mr. and Mrs.-Dearing were married January 10, 1923 at her home by the Rev. Tom Timbers. They have always made their home in Rappahannock. She was the former Mary Magdalene Roberts.

The Dearings received many gifts and best wishes from as far away as New York and California. They received congratulations in a letter from President and Mrs. Richard Nixon.

Hostesses for the .eception were nieces Mrs. Gene Worrell and Mrs. Jai es R. Freeman, assisted by others
