this commodity becomes more scarce tne price will continue to advance. So it seems to me, if we have any common sense at all, we should conserve this natural resource with all diligence.
There was this old preacher who preached a more prophetic sermon than he realized at the time. He said: “When the Lord made the earth He made it into a ball putting an axle down through fit. He put one end of the axle on the north pole and one end on the south pole. He put plenty of oil inside the earth to keep the axle greasy, then He started the earth spinning. He created man, and man started stealing the Lord’s oil. Some day he will steal all the Lord’s oil and there will be none left to keep them axles greasy, and them axles is gonna get hot, and brother, that’s gonna be hell.”
That is a picturesque way of expressing it, but it seems that that day is about to be realized. I don’t think it will be anyone’s ideal situation if; we are robbed of the pleasure traveling. Maybe someone will come up with a solution to the energy crisis, even so, oil is a precious commodity.
