Mrs. Settle

Funeral services for Mrs. Adria Shaffer Settle, 68, of Amissville were held Tuesday at the Amissville Baptist Church.

Mrs. Settle, widow of William Milton Settle, died May 27, 1973. She was the daughter of the late Herman and Mary Street Shaffer of Culpeper County.

She is survived by one son, Stanley F. Settle of Amissville; one daughter Mrs. Reginald AylorofBrightwood; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; five sisters, Mrs. Olive Bowen and Mrs. Margaret Clatterbuck of Culpeper, Mrs. Ethel Granger of Tallahassee, Fla., Mrs. Lewis Compton of Rixeyville and Mrs. Adell Kelly of Maryland.

Pallbearers were Charles Foushee, Ronnie Clatterbuck, Ralph Settle, Nelson Burner, A.C. Corbin and Charlie Priest.

Burke

A funeral service for James Lester Burke of Washington, Va. was held Wednesday at the Geest Funeral Home in Culpeper, with the Rev. Malcolm Maples officiating. Burial followed in Sperry ville Cemetery.

Mr. Burke, 58, a civilian employe in the commissary - at the U.S. Army’s Vint 'Hill Station, died Monday, May 28 at his residence
