Sperryville Rescue Squad July 2 took Robert Hume from Woodville to Culpeper Memorial Hospital. Later that day it transferred him to McGuire Hospital in Richmond. July 4, Robert E. Thompsen was taken from home at Cab-Inn to University of Virginia Hospital. Jake Yowell was taken July 5 from home at Slate Mills to University of Virginia Hospital. July 6 Rhonda Townley was taken from H&G Grocery on Route 231 to University of Virginia Hospital. Mrs. Frank Atkins was taken July 7 to Winchester Memorial Hospital. July 8 Mrs. Gibson Wharton was taken from Hampton Inn to Prince William Hospital in Manassas. July 9 R.E. Thompsen was transferred from the University Hospital to Culpeper Memorial Hospital. The same day Mrs. Buddy Brown was taken from home in Sperryville to University of Virginia Hospital. Early July 10 Mrs. Luther Jenkins, Sr. was taken from home to Culpeper Memorial Hospital. Castleton Rescue Squad took Mrs. Cooke Sr. from home to Culpeper Memorial Hospital on June 25. July 1 the unit was on standby duty at King Memorial Park, Castleton. The fire department and Rescue Squad reported to a house fire July 5 at Viewtown. July 7 Mrs. Jewells Magarity was taken from home to Culpeper Memorial Hospital.
Hubert S. Gilkey, Jr., was taken from his home in Chester Gap to Warren Memorial Hospital in Front Royal by the Chester Gap Rescue Squad Monday. Amissville Fire Company responded July 5 to a fire in a building on the M. L. Thompson property near Viewtown. The unit was called back later the same evening. Leon Rector’s child was taken to Fauquier Hospital, Warrenton on July 9 by Amissville Rescue Squad, then taken to a doctor’s office from the hospital.
