Barksdale said that the success of the zoning ordinance and the county’s low tax rate depended on the administration of the ordinance, and he asked that an assistant be approved for two extra days a week.
“This is not a great big item,” Barksdale commented.
CHAIRMAN Miller, who is alsoon the planning commission, agreed with Barksdale, s saying it was for the good of the county. “The county can’t lose in the appointment of an extra man.”
Mrs. Coates immediately questioned the appointment of an extra man. She said this person would be “another interpreter.”
“Two' people interpreting these laws; there will be a mixup in communications. I’d rather see one man do the whole job," she said.
