Trooper W. A. Buntin,in pursuit of a fleeing vehicle, ran off the curve on the west approach to the Washington by-pass from old Route 211 last Wednesday night and over turned. He sustained only slight injuries, abrasions of the forearm, a scalp contusion and a strained neck.
His car, a 1973 Plymouth, was declared a total loss. The crash was investigated by Area 14 Sgt. T. B. Beasley, Luray.
Trooper Buntin has served 29 years on the police force and this was his first serious wreck.
