THE WASHINGTON Fire Company and Rescue Squad will initiate the carnival season in Rappahannock next week with a four-night benefit which begins Wednesday, June 26. The carnival continues through Saturday.
Among the activities and events on the schedule are a grand parade Thursday night June 27 featuring floats, fire and rescue squad equipment, marching units and majorettes. The parade begins at 7 p.m.
A carnival queen, who will act for a year as honorary fire chief, will be selected and crowned Friday night. A power mower will also be given away that evening. A door prize will be given away Wednesday night.
