A “NEED to improve local law enforcement” leads the list in two surveys conducted “as an educational service” by the Rappahannock County Extension Office.
Twenty-seven per cent of persons contacted in a “random” survey list this as their number one priority for Rappahannock, and 24 per cent of those contacted among community “leadership” reached the same conclusion.
Both survey groups also agreed on their answer to the question, “What would you like to sperRappahannockNC ouaty like in five, ten or twenty years from now?” Twenty-three of 49 persons surveyed at “random” answered “Like is,” and 49 of 72 in the “leadership” surveyagreed.
By “Like is,” it was explained that this included “natural bequty, rural character, open space and agriculture.”
ACCORDING TO Rapley Owings, Extension Agent, the “Leadership and Problem Identification Survey” was done by a two-step process, “or really two surveys.” He elaborated on how it was done.
