RAIN PUT a damper on the Washington Firemens Carnival last week as intermittent showers interfered every evening, and drenched persons participating and viewing the Thursday parade. Since activity was limited, prizes were not given away. They will be distributed tonight (Thursday).
JoAnn Wharton, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thurman Wharton, was named queen of the festivities Friday evening. Runnerup was Frances Gray, daughter of Mrs. Helen Gray.
