“IF MY CUSTOMER isn’t in a hurry, I just take several days to get all the coats on. But sometimes people want whatever it is I’m decoupaging for them in a couple of days. Then I find myself getting up at 2 o'clock in the morning to slap another coat on.’’

Mrs. Miller’s handicrafts have become wellknown around Rappahannock and Madison, so she could take her time before hanging out the sign, near Peola Mills, that reads only “picture framing."

“People are always dropping by or calling," she said, “telling me they have to go to a baby shower or need a wedding present. 'Cotton w hat have you got ready?' they .want to know .'

“Sometimes I'm pretty well stocked. But then there's one shower that a lot of people are going to or someone just comes along and wipes me out." Mrs. Miller said. “1 don’t have so much in the shop now as I usually do."
