THE OTHER DAY I warned a young man against the danger of marrying a girl that might be adept in the art of “skillet chunkin,” but he had stars in his eyes and paid me no mind. I don’t blame him.
“The study of man is man.” “Study thyself to be approved of God.” “Know thyself.” The study of astrology was not looked on with favor by the writers of the Bible, but it seems to me that to know your better qualities and develope them and to know your natural leanings toward so-called evil and counter them is actually heeding the Scriptures—to know thyself.
Are there soul-mates? Does a man really love but once in a life time? If there are soul-mates; I believe there are, does everyone meet his mate once in each life, or does he sometimes fulfill some karmic debt, and be denied? If he does not meet her should he live a life of abnegation, trying to make himself worthy at such a time they might be re-united?
There is a doctrine that teaches that one mate might progress more rapidly than the other into the spiritual plane, while the other must complete their cycle on the mundane. There being a possibility that such may be true, let us not be dilatory in our soul’s advancement. “Whatsoever things are good think on these things.”□
