Flea Market
NEARLY EVERYTHING from A to Z—including antiques, attic and basement treasures, books, dried flowers, etchings and engravings, frozen custard, fun, games, interesting gifts, paintings, portraits, pottery, souvenirs, used clothing, watercolors, you name it—were scheduled to be available at the Fourth of July Flea Market on the streets of Washington, Va., between the hours of 1 and 5 p.m. on July 4th.
Exhibitors and charitable organizations representing the entire county, and dealers from Culpeper, Luray, and Baltimore, Md. are offering items to tempt every purse. Box lunches were prepared by the First Baptist Church of Washington for a delicious food break between the Flea Market and the evening fireworks at Avon Hall.
The Flea Market is sponsored by the Rappahannock Recreation Association and proceeds from this year’s event will help get the new Rappahannock Recreation Center under way. A grant of $15,000 was awarded by the state last week, but more money, in the form of income from the Flea Market and per - sonal donations will be needed to support the proposed Center.
