At 3:30 that afternoon William Stewart Lyons of Falls Church lost control of the Ford station wagon he was driving on Route 211 east of Sperryville. According to Trooper W.A. Buntin, Lyons skidded in the snow and struck the Thornton River bridge. He escaped injury.
Damage to the vehicle, which was owned by Aviation Service Co., Inc. of Weyers Cave, was estimated at $500.
TWO vehicles collided Friday afternoon on Route 211 east of Amissville with injuries and damage resulting. Junior Douglas Corbin of Rixeyville, was driving a 68 Pontiac and Ray Junior Smelser of Stanley was in a 63 Volkswagen.
