Mrs. Updike scores
in judging contest
Mrs. Clara Updike of Washington, Va. was among 33 contestants from eleven states who have been announced as winners in the first annual National Livestock Producer livestock judging contest.
A total of 16,313 readers of the publication, “National Livestock Producer,” sent in entries for the judging contest. Each contestant was required to place four animals in six beef cattle, swine, sheep and horse classes. Mrs. Updike placed tenth in the Women’s Division. It took a near perfect score to place first in the contest.D
