The recently innovated alarmalert system is now in use and is dispatched from Culpeper. Although this involves a long distance phone call* the alarm sent through this system will result in more efficient response than the old system. The increased efficiency is due both to the alerting of members who may not hear the siren, but will hear monitors placed in their homes and to the established radio contact with the Culpeper County Sheriff’s Department where the message is dispatched.
The number to call is 825-6655 for both Washington and Flint Hill. When calling to report a fire or need for a rescue unit, be sure to specify which department you want and give distinct names and explicit directions.□
