CATTLE--Feeder cattle prices rose for the third consecutive week during the week ended September 12 as demand continued good for increased supplies. Prices were generally steady to $1 higher, with some classes up $2 in Florida and South Carolina. Weekly feeder receipts totaled 42,600 head and accounted for 53 per cent of total weekly marketings. This compares with 35,800 head and 56 per cent of a week earlier.
In representative sales around the Southeast, choice 200 to 300 pound steer calves sold at $21 to $28.75; 300 to 400 pounds, $22
to $30.50; 400 to ,500 pounds, $23 to $31; and 500 to 600 pounds cashed $24 to $33.
