The old iron truss bridge over the Rappahannock River on Route 802 was moved by the Highway Department’s two walking cranes Tuesday afternoon. The structure, badly in need of repair, will rest on the Fauquier side of the river on Highway Department right-of-way until a decision is reached on what should be done with it. The Fauquier Supervisors last week agreed to take title to the bridge but stressed that this in no way obligates them to any allocation of county funds towards the estimated $40,000 needed for repairs.
