When the voter registration books closed Saturday, the last day on which to register before the November election, the total number of eligible voters in Rappahannock County was 2512.
The breakdown given by Mrs. Mary Cleverely, Registrar, was: Hampton District 595; Jackson District 430; Piedmont District 465; Stonewall District 468; Wakefield District 554.
The Registrar will be in her office at the courthouse in Washington on Thursdays, October 7, 14, 21 and 28 and Saturdays, October 23 and 30 to accommodate those who need to vote absentee in person. If you will be unable to go to the polls on election day for a valid reason, you may vote in person at the Registrar’s office on those days.
