Riley
A funeral service for Mrs. Bertha Mae Riley, widow of Hugh W. Riley, of Amissville was held Saturday at the Amissville Methodist Church with burial in the church cemetery. The Rev. Ray Crockett conducted the service.
Mrs. Riley, 83, died March 16, 1977 at Fauquier Hospital. She was the daughter of the late George F. Riley and the late Bettie Thorn Riley of Amissville. She was^ a member of the Amissville United Methodist Church.
She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Clifford D. Green of Warrenton and three grandchildren.
The pallbearers were Stanish Riley, Jack Smith, Ronnie Poe, Weston Rider, Morris Riley, Carleton Riley and Lewis Smith.
Scroggins
John H. Scroggins, 75, of Flint Hill, died March 17, 1977 in Culpeper Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday in the chapel of Maddox Funeral Home, Front Royal by the Rev. Malcolm Maples. Interment was in the Flint Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Scroggins was born in Rappahannock County May 5, 1901, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Scroggins. He was predeceased by his wife, Torey Scroggins.
Surviving are one son, Floyd
