Department of Parks. Recreation and Community Services has Community Center Manager positions available at Sterling Community Center. Sterling. VA and Douglass Community Center. Leesburg. VA. Position oversees planning, implementation of classes, special events, evaluates programs to serve diverse population Programs include a large lee class program for all aga groups, adventure, sports, fine/performing arts, alter school programs, summer camps, contractual classes, camps, local and regional special events. Assesses community interests, rscreationai trends for program axpansion. Duties include managing staff/volunteer pertormancs/training, Meets revenue projections, manages budget/ purchasing in accordance with established policies and procedures Manages comprehensive marketing and facility maintenance plans. Serves on departmental, interagency, and community committees to promote recreation opportunities Regularly attends Community Center Advisory Board meetings. Weekly schedule vanes and includes weekday, evening, weekend hours. Bachelors degree w Recreation or related field and three years related work experience m program and facility management including at least t year supervisory experience Prefer at least t year experience supervising children during recreational or educational activities. Membership in Virginia Recreation and Park Society, the National Recreation and Parks Association, and the National Association for the Education of Young Children are beneficial to the position Valid driver s license required. First Aid. Adult/Infant/CMd CPR and current TB test required prior to beginning work. Criminal and credit background. CPS registry and DMV checks.
