The new poet office at Sperryville opened for business Monday morning, July 29. Though the interior of the facility is not completely finished and furnished, all postal services are available. Mrs. Mary Quaintance was the first customer in the new post office. Business activity in Rappahannock County was in high gear during the past year, according to a national economic report just released. It shows that it was due chiefly to heavy spending on the part of local consumers, who had more money at their command than in other years. The Rev. and Mrs. Charles F. Glaenzer were guests of honor at a farewell dinner Friday evening at the Parish Hall, attended by a large group of parishioners and other friends. Mr. and Mrs. Glaenzer were presented with gifts from various organizations in the church and received the good wishes of all present. Five youngsters from the Amissville Methodist Church and one from Oak Shade are attending camp this week at the Methodist Camp near Boston, Va. Those at camp are David James, Connie Holmes, Vicki Settle, A1. Harrup, Junior Pullen and Jean Hitt. They were accompanied by their minister, the Rev. W. A. Layman.
