for quite a long time and they have raised their share of funds as well. The Lions Club has built dug outs, scoreboards and given scholarships. I have not seen or heard of them coming to the BOS for anything. To imply that the parents of the children in our school system would not support the fundraising efforts of the RCSSA is ridiculous. I have worked at many of the fundraising events and everyone that attends is more than happy to do their part. And they have fun along the way.
I did not want the BOS to give $50,000 in actual funds to fight Dominion Power, but I did not get my own column to complain about it. And that was our hard earned tax dollars that were given away. All they did was cosign a note, not one dime was given to RCSSA by the county. Does anybody realize how much money this county would have to spend if we had a real parks and recreation department?
Putting the lights up not only helps the students at the school, but it will help the Relay for lafe groups and their event. Those participants have been walking in
