As far as the Virginia Broadband is concerned, I was at the meeting when the gentlemen explained how it would be installed and I never heard anything about “tall poles.” The people that need the VABB, to work from home to save the environment. to try to bring more revenue to the county, are entitled to the same service that I receive. Just because they don't live on Route 211 or in the Town of Washington on a hill, doesn’t mean that they should not have service. Just because it is a risk, doesn't mean you don't take it. Life is full of risks, you have to be willing to take some because if we didn't we would still be eating by kerosene and driving wagon trains.
I applaud the BOS and I feel very confident that it will be a risk that was well worth taking. Maybe now is the time for the BOS to consider business licenses for county residents. Do I hear money going back into the treasury?
