I would like to correct the editor
of the Rappahannock News or the party responsible for the “Slippery Slope” editorial in the » July 24 edition of the paper.
The Board of Supervisors did not make a decision to install lights on the fields; that decision was made four years ago when the football stadium was proposed. The BOS made a decision to co-sign a note for the Rappahannock County School Sports Association.
I did not realize that Mr. Arundel had hired the editor of this paper to have her own personal column, and that newspaper personnel were allowed to open the back door to the county funds.
The writer of this editorial is obviously very bitter about something and not a supporter of Heudwaters or the school system. Headwaters has raised more money than any other organization in our community, and they do so year in and year out. To imply that Cole Johnson or any other member of Headwaters would ask for a computer for every child is abstfrd.
