Work began on April 7 and continued through the summer. For three months the congregation worshiped in the parish hall setting up chairs and the altar every week.
Items such as foundations and plaster have been more thoroughly renovated than at any time in the past 150 years. Floors and pews have been retmished or reconditioned.
There was wiring that supplied electricity to the wall sconces which dated back to the 1930s when electricity was introduced to the town, but now all is up to modern code. Fluorescent lights were used wherever possible, including in the ceiling, to diminish energy consumption.
A new and more energy efficient HV/AC plant has been installed. The audio visual facilities are being upgraded, with a special emphasis on supporting the hearing impaired.
The church has made a focused effort to enhance energy efficiency wherever possible from the heating to the lighting. Many other new and reconditioned details have brought the sanctuary to a wonderful degree of freshness within the bounds of its historic nature.
On Sept. 7 especially at the 11 a.m.. service, we invite all to come and share with us in celebrating the completion of our renovation work.
