Returning this year to Wakefield as one of two sixth grade teachers is Margaret Smith-DiDomenico. who taught fifth and sixth grade at WCDS beginning in 2004 and then took a sabbatical in 2007 after the birth of her son. SmithDiDomenico holds a Bachelor of Arts from George Mason University (English msgor, minor in poetry), with special studies in mythology, poetry and creative writing, and course work in Shakespearean Literature.
Alumna Jennifer Vierling Thede, Class of‘88, will be teaching one of the two sections of grade one. Thede has her Bachelor of Arts in English from Old Dominion University and taught the last three years at Riverfront Christian Academy.
Sonya Hopkins is the new grade five teacher. She has a Bachelor of Science from Old Dominion University and has worked as an environmental scientist,
