So when Barack Obama speaks of a global community, I know where he is coming from. He has lived it first hand. In the innocence of childhood, he learned to judge another person by how they behaved, not by their ethnic group. I can only imagine the jolt he experienced when he first encountered racial prejudice on the “Mainland.'’’
Obama has the unique experience of never living the typical AfricanAmerican experience until he began college. He is both multi-cultural and multi-racial and. in my opinion, a harbinger of society to come.
However the election is decided. I am grateful that a man of humble beginnings in a melting-pot society has had the honor of running for president of the United States.
