In spite of the cold weather, insects, mites and diseases are still present in and around your landscape plants. Damage from these pests is evident even now. Some, such as the hemlock woolly adelgid, actually feed during the winter. Most though, are dormant, in the form of eggs, pupae, or larvae.
One of the best ways of preventing pest damage this coming spring is to have your plants treated with horticultural spray oil: This natural approach to pest management will smother overwintering pests before they ever hatch! Stopping these pests before they do excessive damage is extremely important in order to keep a healthy laxtecape
