George H. Davis, Jr., was sworn in as Commonwealth’s Attorney of Rappahannock County on Monday December 28 by James M. Settle, clerk of the county. Mr. Davis replaces J. W. Price, who did not seek re-election to the office. Mr. Davis is a graduate of Randolph Macon College and of the University of Virginia School of Law. He served as Commonwealth’s Attorney for Rappahannock from 1941-1948, taking a leave of absence to serve with the U. S. Navy during World War II. In Mr. Davis’ absence, the late Botts Strother acted as Commonwealth’s Attorney.
